Although it was the last day of school and it was supposed to be a very enjoyable one for everybody, my group's video had some problems during screening. Out of all the videos, only ours lagged when the file size isnt very big.
It was the last video to be played and it had to be played on Kester's laptop, and being the last group i guess everyone got all tired and uninterested. Oh well, at least p1 is finally over and i think kester, kangling and me did an excellent job on the whole video from pre-production to post production and we are proud of it.
Anyway, hope we three can work together again! :)

screening day post
Today i felt like crap not physically but mentally as well. The physical aspect is thati had to plug in my lap top and do all those replays for the video which "runs" properly, that killed my mood. Mentally i feel very sad because the whole thing screwed up i just lost the mood even though i'm having holidays. Some comments were given by fellow course mates which made me felt worst when i'm already that moody. well i guess the computer hates me.
Well i hope my team's message is clear that we are reaching out to the passionate people in film and animation to come to TP moving images because a lecturer once said moving images starting to over flow so we might base our message on that. We believe that our content has achieved the target audeince expectations from our reserach in pre-production where they want infomative and impessive visuals and audio. Final Post
Project 1 passed by so quickly, although we faced through tough times together i enjoy those moments when my group laugh at each other and pull little pranks while doing pre and post prodution as well as production itself. Seeing our 7min video gives me a sense of accomplishment and i would have never gotten this if it weren't for my teammates Kang Ling & Alana.
The past 2 blocks of P1 has taught me alot though working together as a team. Wehave been though thick and thin from the hard times of getting a green screen to the enjoyment of laughing at each other while filming. i feel that in a production team, cooperation is the most important thing. Even though u might be the best but chopsticks are harder to break in a bundle. The best part of the team is where we are open minded about each other's comments and are able to accept change if we do need it.
We struggled to edit the special effects, scyn the audio, make backgrounds, polish the after effects and putting the final piece together but it was all worth the time. one part i did not like about was the noise level in the class esepcially when reaching night time they start making noise and it was difficult to scyn audio or even control the levels. But now i guess its alright, it shows how our team is able to cope with even the most distracting enviroment which is rather impressive.
Pushing aside all the stress and problems we faced, i feel that P1 is one of my best 'group' experinces in any of the year 1 subjects. Hopefully we meet the lecturers expectations and we can get a good grade.

Final Post
Our final product for moip1 was finally completed and exported yesterday on the school computer before the security guard chased us out. When we piece every scene together and gave the final edit we felt a sense of accomplishment. I can never get sick of watching the 7 minutes video.
Through this whole 2 blocks, i definitely learn a lot working as a team and i am very glad I got to work together with my mates because we got click well. Co operation is important because each member plays a very important role. Although yesterday we had to rush all the way, i guess we had fun too. One irritating part was the class became nosier after dinner time and it was difficult because i had to listen very carefully to the audio and work with it.
Another irritating part was that the 3d animation lab did not have enough computers for our use. Luckily i lock the computer overnight so that i will still be able to use it even if i got to school a little late, and i am able to keep my information inside.
I guess our team is very blessed because other than working well together, we got a little help here and there as we were doing our project 1.
All in all, the p1 journey was an enjoyable one. (:

Final Post Day 39
Our final video for project 1 was finally completed yesterday when we successfully exported the video.
Today will be the last day of MOIP1. It had been a true learning experience and i'm not just saying it. I've faced obstacles like technical difficulties and disability to do better with AfterEffects. But the main obstacle was of course the noise people made in the class. Through MOIP1, i've realized i have a better temper than i thought i had. I actually put up with the much noise people made in the 3D animation lab. But i had my fair share of laziness and noise making before post-production.
After MOIP1, i've put what i learnt in DMFund into use. I've learnt more about AfterEffects. And i also realized Ctrl+S is our best friend because you don't wanna lose your hard work when the program decides to be an asshole and shut off by itself.
I felt that my team was rather cooperative. We were more flexible in our idea, not that we don't do what we planned before but improved on it. We seeked opinions of each other and discussed how it can be improved. It was very tiring, especially during post-production, with all the editing, sync-ing the audio and motion graphics. The noise people made certainly didn't help, but at least i could concentrate on my work. Even though it was very tiring, i still enjoyed it. I couldn't remember when was the last time i enjoyed doing work.
To sum it all up, MOIP1 had been a great learning experience and i'm looking forward to MOIP2 and hopefully i can still work with the team i have now.
Oh ya, one final thing. I got to love people who walk pass, give destructive comments and walk away. I just couldn't be bothered to argue back.

Day 38
Morning till afternoon (9am-2pm)
Today is the day before submission, many of our classmates are rushing around to finish up their video, but there were some who could play around . Kester came at 9am by cab, he had to pay extra money just so that we can get a computer to use to finish our video, if not we would be stuck with no computer like the past 3 days. Alana came at around 11am according to Kester, they immediatly started the audio and rendering of scenes. Kester did editing of scenes while Alana collected SFXs to be applied to the video. i came in about 12.30 because i woke up late. Reaching school i had wet hair because i rushed to school i immedialty continued with the motion graphics to make it better. After much work we had lunch, in that few hours we have completed most of the visuals and all we have to do now is to get audio for background, SFX as well as our vocals.

After Lunch Kester was still working on pefecting some of the videos as we spotted some errors, Kang Ling and me did scyn-ing voice audio on 2 diffrent computers to speed up our work. I was in-charge of finding the sound effects and applying them, i had to listen to heaps of Sound effects to apply it in. Video making isn't that easy as it is. When it was almost 5.30pm we needed to find Yoke ee to have a consultation as we were afraid that there needs to be some more twicks. she wasn't in her office and we couldn't find her so we continue working after sending er a text message. While working she appeared and we had the consultation. She brought out good points and went through our video. We were kind of happy when she says the work was good, however a few of the major things which we had to change was the quality. Kester rendered it under a very small compressor so the quality of our film dropped. Kester went to redo everything while Kang Ling and I continued to Scyn music till dinner time.

Day 33
I finished the portfolio in our library scene. Some of the people were making much noise and i was rather pissed. I was just glad i finished the portfolio.
Kester edited the video and animation scenes. He had a lot of fun masking my hand in one of the scene. He masked at least 150frames one by one. He sure had fun.
Alana photoshopped more backgrounds and edited more of our past works so i can complete the portfolio.
Only problem faced, noise.

Kester and I came back to school.

Day 31
I finished the first two scenes.

Day 30
We had consultation with Yoke Ee at 11am. When i reached school, Kester and Kangling were already in one of the 3-10 rooms. I went to find them. They waited for the anifund students to end class so they can render the opening and let Yoke Ee see and hopefully she can help us improve it.
After our consultation with Yoke Ee, we had to change certain things in our opening. Instead of putting our past works in it, Yoke Ee suggested that we put sneak peeks of our video into it to bring up the suspense.

Day 29
Kester already finished editing scene 1 and is working on scene 2. I thought the effects on scene 1 were really cool. Really had to thank Jovi for giving us the program, FXhome.
Alana finished up the rest of the animations and started editing the background that Kester needed. She found pictures online and used Photoshop to change the lighting and color contrast.

Day 28
We started editing today. I assigned kangling to do motion graphics and alana to do the animations and editing of our background. I extracted and cut the scenes into different files so i can edit one scene by one scene.
alana started on her animations first. She found images of the animations that she would need and started drawing them on flash using the wacom pen. She had to make them walk or fly, change color, texture and size.

Day 27
After the video was captured, we went through everything to see if there was any mistakes so we can re-shoot again. In the end, we really found mistakes here and there and thus we quickly got the camera ready to start on scenes that needs to re shoot. All of us could not wash our clothes because for all scenes, we will be wearing the same thing. I felt a little uncomfortable. . .

Day 26
Today we are to do capturing at HereAfter, apprently we had to wait as there were other teams doing it as well. We spend the entire day there waiting to extract so that Kester can go home and start planning the editing schedule as well as do minor editing. We were very embrassed when we were capturing our fotage as our fotage was just our faces against the green screen which look very dumb. hopefully the editing will enhance the video.

Day 25
Today was the second day of filming the green screen. We filmed from the afternoon all the way to the night and we completed all of our remaining scenes. The shoot was quite relaxed because when other groups wanted to use the TV studio, we could take a break and relax. All of us couldn't wash our clothes for the next day in case we have to re shoot when we capture and view what we have done.

Day 24
Today was the second day of production, Jovi offered to lend us the green screen he borrowed from the school and we felt really lucky because we couldnt get to use the green screen from the IMD studio. We started filming the green screen scenes. All of us had a fun time filming because when we rewind what we filmed in the camera and watched them, we had many bloopers which were funny.

day 23
Today was our first day of filming, we had to meet up at 11am to prepare props and get the camera ready. Kester got the camera and we prepared for our 1st shoot. After we set up the equipment jam for lunch started and our audio would be affected. we had to hold our filming and wait for them to finish, which was about 3pm to 4pm. We did not waste time, Kester continued to plan for the shoots and scenes while alana and me tried to find the course manager for IMD to borrow their green screen on level 6. At the end of the day, we could not find the course manager and when jams for lunch ended, we started on our first scene and completed in.

Today is the day we initally had to start our production, we were all prepared to film with the green screen already but unfortunatly, Mr Eric the guy who is in-charge of loaning the equipment was on MC. 1 day past and we couldn't do anything, we paniced but we calm down and started on our photoshop instead for the green screen.

We met yoke ee for consultation again and finalized our idea and kept the magical theme. Instead of showcasing our work, we tried to make it fit into a story. We also changed our opening and ending and made it more magical. She told us not to rush into production and plan carefully and email her a script and she would improve it for us.

We met yoke ee for consultation. She was clarifying the assignment brief with us, saying we don't have to showcase our works if we don't want to. We had doubts about idea and didn't know whether to change it or not. She told us to discuss again and confirm our idea with her the next day. After that we went to the canteen and came up with a new idea but still using the magical theme for our video.

Today our group met up in the morning to do the script and story board. We evaluated all the essential content and agreed on it. We produced a script with all its essential contents and a rough storyboard which we will touch up on the next day.
